We had qualifying today. I ended up in 24th spot with a good run! One of those days. Great run but not a super fast time. Its a new race tomorrow, four at a time! Can’t wait for some head to head action. Two more race days to go in the season!

Had a good start in the first round today putting me three wide into the first turn. Did not have enough room to make the gate so I was forced to dump some speed and follow in behind. After some contact with the racer in fourth we were to far back to make any passing attempts. I am getting tired of these early round eliminations! Time to step it up for the last two WC races of the season. We head off to Grindelwald Sui tomorrow for the remaining two races. I’m feeling good about these last two!

Germany World Cup #2

Not a bad start to the day. Qualified 17th with a small mistake. Rough and snowy conditions out there today. In the round of 32 I had a great start, which after the top few features put me into second behind Mike Schmid the Olympic gold medalist. I made sure I stuck on his tales like glue and had no problem advancing into the next round. In the round of 16 My start was again pretty good. but so was the other three guys! We had some contact in the first turn and I happened to come out in front. Further down the course Mike Schmid made a nice pass on my outside in one of the turns which caused me to miss a press on a jump which caused me to lose speed on the landing. Resulting in another pass on me. I tried to make the pass back in the following turn but lost my edge as well as another place! Thats racing I guess! It was nice to be back in the mix! I am excited for the next race in Sweden next weekend. Talk soon…

Well in the first round today here in Germany I had some solid contact with my team mate Dave Duncan when he got a bit late and I tried to make the pass, putting him into the fence and me almost taking out a couple of photographers. This stop on the tour has two races on the same course. So I get another chance tomorrow…

We arrived to Munich yesterday and drove 160km to Berchtesgaden. We went freeskiing on the hill today. They were still building and testing the course. Today was a beautiful sunny day but the weather forecast is calling for rain for the next couple of days. Tomorrow we will have an hour of training on the course then qualifying the following day. I will keep everyone updated on how qualifying goes for me. Talk soon…

X-Games 2012.

Good times at X-Games this year. Its always fun racing in Aspen.
After two days of training and qualifying in 11th, I was super excited to race. In the quarter finals I had a descent start pulling out into 2nd, out of 6. (X-Games is 6 at a time.) The American Joe Swennson started merging hard from my right on the takeoff of the second feature. this caused me to miss my press and overshoot the landing and then undershoot the next double. This forced me into 5th position. Further down the course I made a move back into 4th. Following close in the draft of the 3rd racer I attempted a pass right before the line and was half a foot short of advancing at the line.
We have now arrived here at Blue Mtn Collingwood, Ont. We did some school visits today and all the local kids seem really excited about this Fridays WC Skicross. Training starts tomorrow followed by qualifying Thursday and finals on Friday. I feel really good about this one!!

Well I am definitely getting excited for winter X! It is always the best and most memorable track of the year. I leave Vancouver for Aspen Tuesday morning. I will keep you posted…

After a couple small mistakes yesterday in qualifying I ended up in the 22nd position for todays race. In the first heat I got the lead early off the first jump. I had a clean run and won the heat by a good margin. In the quarter final round myself and two other racers found ourselves three wide over the second feature. unfortunately I could not create enough room to get by the gate and missed it. Ended up 16th overall. Off to Les Contamines France for the next World Cup .
